Philips continue to expand its Evnia gaming monitor series at a rate of knots, having recently confirmed the global release of a 4K and Mini LED option. This time, the company has revealed the Evnia 27M2C5200W, which replaces the older Evnia 27M1C5200W. In short, the former features a 27-inch VA panel, just like the latter.
However, the Evnia 27M2C5200W delivers a 280 Hz refresh rate, a 40 Hz improvement on its predecessor. Additionally, Philips has managed to increase the panel's contrast ratio by a third from 3,000:1 to 4,000:1. Moreover, the new monitor has a tweaked stand that should take up less desk space than the one included with the Evnia 27M1C5200W; 100 x 100 mm VESA mounts remain for using a third-party stand, though.
Furthermore, the Evnia 27M2C5200W has a 1500R curvature, as well as a 1080p (1,920 x 1,080) native resolution, 108% NTSC colour space coverage and 300 nits peak brightness. Meanwhile, the monitor finds itself with one DisplayPort 1.4 port and a pair of HDMI 2.0 ports that are limited to a peak 1080p/180 Hz output. Please note that while Philips starts selling the Evnia 27M2C5200W in the Eurozone this month, it will not reach the UK until September. For reference, the monitor retails for £199.99 and €249 in the UK and the Eurozone, respectively.
