Miniproca: New mini PC launches with folding touchscreen, powerful SoC and large discount
We have reported on mini PCs with inbuilt displays before, and the Miniproca falls squarely into this category. Having recently launched on Kickstarter, the mini PC comes with a seven-inch foldable touchscreen that flips out to 90 degrees, allowing it to be used as a mobile system and in confined spaces.
An AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX is installed as the APU. Introduced in 2022, the chip is no longer cutting edge, but the performance provided is still more than decent. Thanks to the AMD Radeon RX 680M graphics unit integrated into the APU, the Miniproca is also suitable for moderate video gaming. 4800 MHz DDR5 RAM is installed, with a choice of 8, 16 or 32 GB of RAM. Regarding storage, users have the option between 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB in the form of an M.2 2280 SSD via PCIe 4.0.
In terms of cooling, a vapor chamber heat spreader and a 4000 RPM blower fan are on board. For connectivity, Ethernet with 2.5 GBit/s is available as well as WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The selection of ports is impressive: on the front are two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the back features a full-featured type C port, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, dual 2.5G RJ45 wired network ports and a 19V DC power supply port.
Supporters can pre-order the 175 x 137 x 55 millimeter mini PC from Kickstarter for $699, with delivery scheduled for October. Last but not least, potential buyers should keep in mind that there are significant financial risks involved with crowdfunding campaigns.
