ViewSonic LX700-4K RGB debuts as home cinema with Xbox gaming features
ViewSonic touts the new LX700-4K RGB as the best projector to use with "next-gen consoles" such as the PlayStation 5, as it might game at up to 240Hz in up to 5,200 nits of brightness while reproducing up to 100% of the BT.2020 color gamut.
Then again, it apparently automatically switches to the "optimal balance" of 120Hz/1440p when connected to an Xbox - which should be done using the HDMI port with HDCP 2.2 but without eARC for sound - or so ViewSonic suggests by highlighting it in green to match the LX700-4K's front-mounted Designed for Xbox logo.
The projector is also backed to set a new home theater "benchmark" with HLG support to augment its HDR-rated image quality and a "V-lens" that can vertically adjust the thrown image window even if the projector is in place and immobile on the ceiling.
The LX700-4K RGB also has 1.6x optical zoom to help fit the window to a given amount of blank wall space.
ViewSonic has yet to announce pricing for its new projector; for context, its LX700-4K sibling with 1.35x optical zoom and 3,500 lumens of brightness can be found on Amazon for $1,439.99 right now.
