Dynabook Tecra A40-M and A60-M debut with Microsoft Copilot, Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6E
The Tecra A40-M and A60-M are touted to stand out on the "professional laptop" landscape with their relatively thin and light Dark Blue builds with dual Thunderbolt 4 ports that can open completely flat and have (white) keyboard backlighting.
They also both have optional touchscreen versions of the same 1920x1200 displays - which means the A40-M will have the slight edge in terms of resolution thanks to its potentially fieldwork-ready 14-inch build, although the A60-M has room for a full numberpad instead, and seems to be the thinner of the 2.
Then again, the new Tecra A-series casing is MIL-STD-810H-rated and has an IONPure IPL antimicrobial treatment, although it is also made of ABS (plastic) rather than metal.
Nevertheless, both new Tecra laptops are also backed to support "superhero speeds" with Wi-Fi 6E to go with their Bluetooth connectivity. They also both upgrade to 14th-gen Intel platform options that range from the Core Ultra 5 135U to the 7 165H - which of course means they have launched as "AI laptops".
Most of it is activated by dedicated Copilot buttons, although some is also found in their 5MP webcams. The Tecra A40-M and A60-M can also be spec'd with things such as fingerprint readers to go with their dTPM 2.0 modules for "unmatched" institutional security, and are slated to start at $1,300 or less apiece via Dynabook US.
