Dell Latitude 7x40 series announced with Intel 13th gen vPro, 5 MP webcam, and mini-LED backlit keyboard

Alongside the Latitude 9440 2-in-1 and the Latitude 5x40 series, Dell is also introducing a range of refreshed Latitude 7x40 series laptops. The new Latitude 7x40 series, which is comprised of the Latitude 7340, Latitude 7440, Latitude 7640, Latitude 7340 Ultralight, and Latitude 7440 Ultralight, is designed to cater to the needs of business team leaders, directors, and product managers.

The Latitude 7x40 series sports a premium ultralight magnesium chassis in the River color option for the 13 and 14-inch variants while an aluminum chassis with a Titan Gray color is available in the 13, 14, and 16-inch variants. 

All Latitude 7x40 laptops now offer 16:10 panels. The Latitude 7340 and the Latitude 7440 come in both laptop and 2-in-1 form factors whereas the Latitude 7640, Latitude 7340 Ultralight and Latitude 7440 Ultralight are offered only as traditional laptops. The Latitude 7340 offers a choice of Intel 13th gen processors up to the Core i7 U-series vPro while the Latitude 7340 and Latitude 760 come with both U and P-series vPro options. On the other hand, the Latitude 7340 Ultralight and Latitude 7440 Ultralight offer only the U-series chips.

Dell has equipped all Latitude 7x40 series laptops with a 5 MP IR MIPI webcam together with a physical shutter. Other features include optional Onlooker and Look-away detection, quad-speakers, Wi-Fi 6E and optional 4G/5G WWAN networking, and Dell Optimizer AI smarts.

Similar to the Latitude 9440 2-in-1, the Latitude 7x40 series also comes with a mini-LED backlit keyboard. The touchpad, however, is not as large and does not offer any haptic controls for Zoom calls.

The Dell Latitude 7x40 series will be available in aluminum and ultralight variants from today at prices starting from US$1,676.99.
