The Latitude 9440 might be what some customers may have hoped for in a 2023 XPS 2-in-1, with an "ultra-premium" MIL-STD-810H-rated chassis made with 75% recycled aluminum, refined down to "world's smallest" 14-inch PC status through "diamond-cut" edges and a graphite finish - all with a fully physical "Zero Lattice" keyboard. Then again, the OEM makes it clear that the 9440 is first and foremost designed for those who web-conference.
This is apparent in the backlit icons set right into the large touchpad, for common Zoom shortcuts such as camera/mic toggles. They are also active and are rated for audible haptic feedback, as does the rest of said touchpad. Its FHD IR web-cam is accompanied by quad speakers with "intelligent" tuning for audio in meetings, as well as AI-enhanced noise cancellation.
Dell has released the Latitude 9440 to the US market with the Core i5-1345U or i7-1365U with vPro as options. However, even the base model with a plain i5-1335U, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage is now priced at US$2,369. It can be ordered with Windows 10 Pro rather than 11 Pro, albeit for ~US$79 more.
Those configurations are now available at dell.com, although the 9440 has yet to join the 9430 on sites such as Amazon at the time of writing.
