Fairbuds XL leaks again in two colour options with recycled plastic design
Roland Quandt and WinFuture have shared more information about the Fairbuds XL, which the pair leaked last month. To recap, the Fairbuds XL first appeared via a promotional video that was seemingly erroneously published on Vimeo. Initially, the only image of the Fairbuds XL was from this video. However, Quandt has now published promotional images of the over-ear headphones in its two expected colourways.
Unfortunately, many hardware details are unknown for now, such as the headphones' audio properties and whether it supports gesture controls. Potentially, the Fairbuds XL will rely on a joystick and a physical button, with the former previously thought of as a second physical button. Likewise, battery life has not leaked yet, although the headphones will recharge its batteries via a USB Type-C port located within its right earcup. As far as we can tell, Fairphone has included four microphones, with most on its right earcup.
According to the leaker, Fairphone will launch the Fairbuds XL within the 'coming weeks'. An official launch date remains unknown for now though, as does a release date. Allegedly, Fairphone still hopes to sell the Fairbuds XL for €249, which should make the headphones competitive against more popular alternatives from Apple, Bose, Sennheiser and Sony, among others.
