IKEA VAPPEBY Portable waterproof Bluetooth speaker available now
The IKEA VAPPEBY Portable waterproof Bluetooth speaker is now on sale in countries worldwide. The company suggests you can use the portable gadget to play music outdoors or in the bathroom, thanks to the IP67 waterproof rating. However, it is worth noting that this only means that the speaker can only be submerged in water for a short period.
You can pair mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to the VAPPEBY via Bluetooth and wirelessly link two speakers to create a stereo sound. The compact gadget measures 8 x 8 x 6 cm (~3.1 x 3.1 x 2.4-in) and weighs around 200 g (~7.1 oz), with a built-in LED to show the device’s status. When volume is set to 50%, a full charge can provide up to 80 hours of playback time. The 2,600 mAh battery can be recharged via USB-C, though it cannot be replaced.
You can buy the IKEA VAPPEBY Portable waterproof Bluetooth speaker in countries such as the US, UK and the Netherlands for US$14.99, £12.00 or €14.99. The gadget is available with a red, yellow or black plastic casing with a matching hanging rope loop and silicone on/off and play/pause buttons. Earlier this year, IKEA teased a new VAPPEBY Bluetooth speaker lamp, suitable for outdoor use, which will be launched in the coming months.
