New Xiaomi Smart Speaker Lite was just revealed

Xiaomi has launched the Smart Speaker Lite, available in countries including Spain. The gadget has a 1.75-in loudspeaker unit and a 350cc sound cavity to enhance the audio. Plus, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, the speaker supports Amazon Alexa voice commands, Apple AirPlay2 and Spotify Connect.

The Xiaomi Smart Speaker Lite has arrived in Europe and is currently available in Spain. The device has a 1.75-in (~44 mm) full-range speaker unit, with the product page suggesting the Xiaomi Acoustic Lab has tuned it. Plus, a 350cc sound cavity boosts the speaker’s power and a u-shaped duct enhances the bass.

With Bluetooth 5.1 and dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity, you can wirelessly cast content to the device using Apple AirPlay 2 or Spotify Connect. You can connect multiple speakers around your home to sync the music in various rooms using the Apple system or Alexa multi-room. You can also control the Smart Speaker Lite via the Xiaomi Home App, where you can link the device to other smart home gadgets, or with the integrated buttons for power on/off, play/pause and microphone on/off.

The Xiaomi device has two built-in microphones and Amazon Alexa for voice commands; for example, you can ask Alexa what the weather is like or to play the song of your choice. The compact speaker has a matte gray finish, weighing 460 g (~16.2 oz) and measuring 142 x 70 x 28 mm (~5.6 x 2.8 x 1.1-in). You can buy the Xiaomi Smart Speaker Lite in Spain for €39.99 (~US$44). It is unclear whether or when the product will roll out to other markets.
