New Xiaomi TV Master debuts with 4K QLED, 144 Hz and 2,000 nit capable 86-inch display

Xiaomi has introduced the Xiaomi TV Master 86-inch, a new entry in its TV Master series. Released alongside the likes of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and the Band 8, the Master TV 86-inch relies on a QLED panel that operates natively at 4K. According to Xiaomi, it elected against releasing a bigger model because an 86-inch TV is at the upper limits of what can easily be transported into apartments.

As the company's teaser images below show, the TV Master 86-inch features 1,080 Mini-LED backlight zones that help it achieve 2,000 nits peak brightness when showing HDR content. Purportedly, the TV can also almost replicate the perfect blacks of AMOLED and OLED panels, with 0.0001 nits minimum brightness. Moreover, the QLED panel has a 144 Hz refresh rate and supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to minimise image tearing.

Furthermore, Xiaomi has included HDMI 2.1 ports to provide compatibility with modern games consoles, while a 3.1 channel speaker system delivers outputs at up to 70 W. In other words, the Xiaomi TV Master 86-inch sounds an awful lot like the TCL C84 that debuted earlier today in Europe. Xiaomi has priced its new Smart TV at CNY 14,999 (~US$2,180) in China; details of an international launch are unknown at this stage.
