Roborock S8 Plus and Roborock S8 Pro Ultra launch as new high-end robot vacuum cleaners
Roborock has now brought the entire S8 series to market, following its introduction in January at CES 2023. To recap, while the company unveiled the S8, S8 Plus and S8 Pro Ultra simultaneously, it released the S8 before the S8 Plus or S8 Pro Ultra. For reference, the S8 costs €699 in the Eurozone and US$749.99 in the US.
Now, Roborock has started selling the S8 Plus for €899.99 and US$999.99. In short, the S8 and S8 Plus are identical, with 6,000 Pa of suction power, a DuoRoller Brush and a VibraRise mopping system. Also, both robot vacuums feature 3D obstacle avoidance, LiDAR Navigation and app support. However, the S8 Plus ships with an auto-empty dock that Roborock claims will only need emptying every seven weeks. The S8 Plus matches the S8 with black and white colourways too.
In comparison, the S8 Pro Ultra adds Roborock's second-generation VibraRise mopping technology, a liftable brush and mop and fast charging. Meanwhile, its dock cleans the vacuum's mop, holds wastewater and has a third tank for storing clean water. These additions come at a hefty uplift though, with Roborock charging US$1,599.99 at launch or €1,499 in the Eurozone. Please see Roborock's website for more details.
