Dell's Latitude 5430 Chromebook is a business-focused Chromebook that features 12th-Gen Intel CPUs, either a clamshell or 2-in-1 form factor, and security features like automatic enterprise enrollment upon booting the laptop for the first time.

Dell today announced the new Latitude 5430 Chromebook, a business-focused ChromeOS laptop powered by a variety of 12th-Gen Intel processors.

The 5430 Chromebook is available in either a clamshell or 2-in-1 form factor. Both versions have the same internal specs (listed below). The main difference lies in screen options: while the 2-in-1 is limited to a 14-inch 1920x1200 60 Hz touch screen at 250 nits, the clamshell can be configured with this same panel, a non-touch version, or a higher resolution 2500x1600 90 Hz non-touch screen at 300 nits.

Either Chromebook can be configured with either a 12th-Gen Intel Pentium Gold 8505 (5C/6T, 3.3-4.4 GHz), Intel Core i3-1215U (6C/8T, 3.3-4.4 GHz), Intel Core i5-1235U (10C/12T, 3.3-4.4 GHz), Intel Core i5-1245U vPro (10C/12T, 3.3-4.4 GHz), or Intel Core i7-1255U (10C/12T, 3.5-4.7 GHz) CPU. The Pentium Gold and Core i3 CPU will use Intel UHD Graphics for video processing, while the Core i5 and Core i7 options will feature an Intel Iris Xe Graphics iGPU.

Memory can be configured to either 8 or 16 GB of LPDDR5 4800 MHz RAM, and storage options include either a 64 GB eMMC module or a M.2 2230 256 or 512 GB of PCIe NVMe Gen4 x4 SSD.

Port selection includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) Type-C ports that support power delivery and DisplayPort, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) USB-A port, an HDMI 1.4b port, and a 3.5 mm headset jack. Dell lists the USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-C ports as Thunderbolt4 compatible, though it's unlikely they will be able to operate at full Thunderbolt4 speeds.

The Chromebook has an Intel AX211 dual-band WiFi 6E card and supports Bluetooth 5.2. An optional Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 LTE modem is also available. Users can select from either a 4-cell 54 Wh battery or 4-cell 64 Wh battery. Purchaser's can opt for up to a 5-year warranty with optional ProSupport services from Dell.

The Latitude 5430 Chromebook can be set up to automatically enroll into a company's enterprise administration system once an employee receives their device and connects to the Internet, removing the need for the IT department to physically set up each device. Instead, enrollment can be set up to automatically occur upon employee receipt from Dell and initial set up.

The Latitude 5430 Chromebook is available starting today. Pricing was not available at the time of publication.
