The new Chromebook packs a number of often sought-after Lenovo features into its thin and light form-factor, a 360° IdeaPad Flex hinge and a privacy shutter for its up to 1080p webcam included. It also fits a physical mute switch for its microphone into its chassis, designed to fit a smaller 12.2-inch display for improved "agility" throughout the day.
Accordingly, the OEM asserts that it gives the user the freedom to take their work anywhere, especially with up to 12 hours of battery life. Lenovo is also confident that the user will be comfortable using it for that long, thanks to the IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook's (12-inch, 8) with an official TÜV Low Blue Light rating.
The OEM also asserts that it is equally easy to get started, what with ChromeOS' boot times, potentially augmented with a choice of the Intel N100 or N700 platforms with up to Wi-Fi 6E support. Those specs are paired to 4 or 8GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of eMMC storage in the new Lenovo Chromebook.
It also has a range of I/O, although it only has room for a microSD card slot and there is just 1 instance of type-C. Lenovo asserts that the USB 3.2 Gen 2 port is "fully functional", however.
The IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook (12-inch, 8) will be released in Abyss Blue or Cloud Gray, starting at €479 (~US$508) from May 2023.
