ASUS has presented the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus, a Chromebook that combines Intel Meteor Lake processors with a 4K display and a MIL-STD 810H chassis.

ASUS has now unveiled the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus, a Chromebook that will be available with Core Ultra 5 125U, Core Ultra 5 135U, Core Ultra 7 155U and Core Ultra 7 165U processors. All twelve-core processors belonging to Intel's Meteor Lake family, the Core Ultra options also all contain 12 MB cache. However, each processor has different CPU core and boost clock speeds.

Additionally, ASUS offers the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM clocked at 6,400 MT/s and 512 GB of PCIe 4.0 storage. Moreover, the Chromebook has a 14-inch LCD that outputs at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels with 500 nits peak brightness and a quoted 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. For reference, the display also supports USI stylus inputs, while the machine itself has the following I/O within its 1.3 kg and 313.7 x 222.8 x 16.7 mm housing:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x HDMI 2.1
  • 1x MicroSD card reader
  • 2x Thunderbolt 4
  • 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A

According to ASUS, the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus meets the MIL-STD 810H standard. Please note that this is not an independently verified standard, unlike IP ratings. Unfortunately, ASUS has not confirmed when the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus will be available yet, nor for how much. Either way, all SKUs will ship with 63 Wh and 3-cell lithium polymer batteries.
