Memorial Day deals are starting to pop up at most retailers, and some of Dell’s 2023 laptops now come with enticing price slashes. The XPS 17 for instance is benefiting from a US$500 discount. This applies to configurations with an RTX 4070 (US$2,999) as well as an RTX 4080 dGPU (US$3,349).

The discounted XPS 17 is powered by Intel’s Raptor Lake i9-13900H processor with 8 efficiency cores and 6 performance cores boosting to 5.4 GHz. It also comes with 32 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage. On the display side, Dell is offering a high quality 17-inch IPS touchscreen with 4K resolution and 500 nit peak brightness.

Dell is including no less than 4x Thunderbolt 4 connectors on this model, together with the usual audio jack and a full-size SD card reader. This model only offers wireless internet connectivity via an Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3 card and the webcam is limited to 720p although it does integrate an IR sensor for extended security.

This year’s XPS 17 models retain the sturdy CNC machined aluminum and carbon fiber chassis that weigh at most 5.37 lbs (2.44 kg) and are 0.77 inches (19.5 mm) thin. For the sound system, Dell is offering Waves MaxxAudio Pro and Waves Nx 3D audio sound quality plus 2x 2.5 W woofers and 2x 1.5 W tweeters for a total of 8 W peak output. Rounding out the configuration are a 97 Wh battery and a Windows 11 Home license.
