Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320 gets minor refresh with new Intel 13th gen Raptor Lake options, Core i7-1360P SKU starts from US$1,399
Dell introduced a redesigned XPS 13 Plus 9320 last year with 28 W Intel Alder Lake processors. Dell hasn't refreshed the XPS 13 Plus this year but is re-introducing the same 9320 SKU with Raptor Lake options.
Interestingly, Dell is still offering Intel 12th gen options as well. This includes the Core i5-1240P, Core i7-1260P, Core i7-1270P, and the Core i7-1280P. The 13th gen processor choices include the Core i5-1340P, Core i7-1360P, and finally the Core i7-1370P.
Buyers can configure the laptop with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5-6000 memory and up to a 2 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. InfinityEdge display options range from a 13.4-inch FHD+ to 3.5K OLED and UHD+ touchscreen options. All panels support Dolby Vision HDR and EyeSafe technology.
Port selection is quite limited with just two Thunderbolt 4 ports, but a USB Type-C to USB Type-A adaptor ships in the box. Networking is handled by a Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675 WLAN card with Bluetooth 5.3.
The main USP of the XPS 13 Plus is its design with a seamless haptic ForcePad instead of a regular touchpad. Dell has taken some cues from this design for the new Latitude 9440 2-in-1 convertible as well.
Currently, only the SKU with a Core i7-1360P is available for purchase on Dell.com. Configuring this with 16 GB LPDDR5-6000 RAM, a 1 TB SSD, and the 3.5K display option will prompt you to shell out US$1,799. The cheapest option with a 512 GB SSD and an FHD+ non-touch display option starts from US$1,399. We expect more SKUs to become available in the days to come.
While shortcomings such as lack of an adequate port selection cannot be possibly improved upon, the upgrade to 13th gen processors can potentially help with better power efficiency and improved battery run times.
We will be able to test these aspects once we receive upgraded XPS 13 Plus 9320 units for review, so stay tuned.
