Xiaomi is gearing up to announce the Redmi Book 14, with the company eschewing its 'Redmibook' branding. As always, Xiaomi is running a short teaser campaign on its Weibo account, where it drip-feeds information about forthcoming devices. So far, the company has hinted at the laptop's display characteristics, as well as a few details about its prospective performance and design.
Unsurprisingly, the Redmi Book 14 has a 14-inch display. At the time of writing, Xiaomi has confirmed that the display operates at 2.8K, likely a 2,880 x 1,800-pixel native resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Additionally, the display will run at 120 Hz, with Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and DC dimming support baked in. Xiaomi claims that the panel will be colour accurate, with Delta E deviations of roughly 0.41. However, we would recommend waiting for independent reviews to arrive before passing judgement in this regard.
Moreover, the Redmi Book 14 will combine 13th Gen Intel Core H series processors with LPDDR5 5,200 RAM and PCIe 4.0 storage. To that end, the laptop will feature twin M.2 2280 slots, although its RAM appears to be soldered rather than connected via SO-DIMM. Elsewhere, Xiaomi's teasers have confirmed the presence of three USB Type-A ports, a single USB Type-C connection that will handle charging and a full-sized HDMI port. The company has not commented on a global release yet, but the Redmi Book 14 will debut in China on May 22.
