Former Toshiba laptop division Dynabook is upgrading its Satellite Pro C40 and C50 models with Intel’s 11th gen Tiger Lake-U processors along with the new Windows 11 OS, faster SSDs and improved warranty services.
Dynabook has adapted its Satellite Pro lineup to the the work-from-home norms imposed by the pandemic, as the 14-inch Satellite Pro C40-J provides up to a 9.5 hour autonomy via a 45.6 Wh battery and weighs just 3.27 lbs (1.49 kg) with a 18.9mm profile, while the 15.6-inch Satellite Pro C50-J boasts a 19.7mm form factor, weighing in at 3.96 lbs (1.80kg), and provides up to an 8 hour battery life.
Apart from the FHD display size and keyboard differences, the C40-J and C50-J pack mostly the same features. Processor options include the Core i5-1135G7 and the i7-1165G7 integrating Iris Xe GPUs, which can be coupled with 8 to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and 256 to 512 GB of NVMe SSD storage. Connectivity capabilities include Gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth, and port selection comes with a full-option USB-C connector, 2x USB-A, HDMI video output, audio jack, GbE jack and a microSD card reader. For hybrid working environments, the laptops integrate an HD webcam and a Cortana-enabled microphone.
Price-wise, a Core i5-1135G7 + 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage configuration is set to retail at US$769.99, while a Core i7-1165G7 + 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage variant will cost US$929.99 for both sizes.
