This model is only available in Japan for now and its lightness comes with a performance cost, as it supports up to a Ryzen 7 7730U processor coupled with up to 16 GB DDR4-4266 and 512 GB SSD storage. Nevertheless, the included 83 Wh battery can last up to 24 hours.

Dynabook continues its quest to improve battery life on enterprise laptops with the latest GA83/XW model that just launched in Japan. The ex-Toshiba laptop branch now owned by Sharp is equipping the new GA83/XW 13-incher with either an R7 7730U or R5 7530U from AMD, but what really sets this model apart is the lightness of only 875 g, which includes the battery that can last up to 24 hours.

The magnesium alloy chassis itself might not be the slimmest at 17.9 mm, yet it allows to fit a new cooling system that was designed with the help of thermal fluid analysis, plus the 83 Wh battery that lasts at least 17.5 hours and supports quick charge. To keep things as light as possible, the laptop only features up to 16 GB of LPDDR4-4266 and up to 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage.

On the display side, Sharp offers touch and non-touch variants for the 13.3-inch IPS panel with FHD resolution, plus a 180-degree hinge. Above the display there is a webcam with privacy shutter, various AI-powered enhancements and optional IR sensor for face recognition.

Port selection is not exactly up to date with the latest standards, but provides decent connectivity. There are two USB-C 3.1 connectors, two more USB-A 3.0, GbE jack, audio jack and a microSD card reader. Instead of the usual Wi-Fi card, this model features an optional 4G LTE modem with BT 5.1. For improved security, the trackpad integrates a fingerprint reader.

For now, the Dynabook GA83/XW laptop is only available in Japan starting at the equivalent of US$2,600. However, it should be available in other regions later on with adjusted pricing (usually half of the Japanese price).
