Minisforum officially announces EliteMini AI370 gaming mini PC
The Minisforum EliteMini AI370 was first teased by the company last month, and about two weeks ago, the promotional poster leaked. That leak gave an unofficial glimpse at the system, and now, the company has officially announced it. It's the first gaming mini PC in the brand's lineup with an AMD Strix Point APU.
More specifically, the EliteMini AI370 comes with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, which sports the Radeon 890M. According to our benchmarks, this iGPU is up to 15% faster in synthetic benchmarks when compared to the 780M. When it comes to gaming, the performance boost is up to 18%.
So, with this iGPU, the EliteMini AI370 stands as a better pick than Minisforum's last-gen UM780 XTX. Minisforum also says that its new gaming mini PC can easily offer 60+ FPS in AAA games. However, it doesn't come with an OCuLink port, which is a drawback when compared to the AOOSTAR GEM10 370.
That mini PC also comes with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, making it and the Minisforum EliteMini AI370 comparable when it comes to the hardware. However, with a USB4 port instead of OCuLink, Minisforum's new offering isn't a better choice for those who want to build an eGPU setup.
On that note, there is a decent selection of ports on the mini PC, with the back featuring two 2.5G Ethernet, one DisplayPort, one HDMI, and two USB Type-A. On the front, there are one USB4, two USB Type-A, and one 3.5 mm audio port.
Minisforum hasn't yet shared the other details of the EliteMini AI370, and the pricing details are also kept under wraps. However, the Beelink SER9, currently the only Strix Point mini PC available globally, costs $999, and the Zen 5 chips are said to be more expensive than their Zen 4 counterparts. So, Minisforum's new offering will also likely be around the $1,000 mark.
