Lunar: 2-in-1 foldable keyboard and mini PC with powerful specs

The Lunar, a mini PC with an AMD APU in the form of a keyboard, is currently being funded as part of a Kickstarter campaign. The device only needs to be unfolded and connected to a display via cable for a complete PC setup. A small touchpad is integrated directly so that a mouse is not necessary.

Lunar measures 153 x 110 x 30 millimeters when folded and weighs less than 800 grams. It can output image content via USB 4, USB 3.2 in type C and USB 3.0 in type A. WiFi and Bluetooth are on board. According to the manufacturer, users can also use Lunar as a hotspot and access data stored on the device. Lunar can also be used solely as a Bluetooth keyboard. 

A 59.2 Wh battery is installed and the battery life is specified as 8 to 10 hours. The AMD Ryzen 7 8840U is a computing chip also known from gaming handhelds. Depending on the selected configuration, the RAM is up to 32 GB in size, while an SSD of up to 1 TB is available for storage.

Lunar will be delivered to supporters on Kickstarter for a contribution starting at $579. Shipping is scheduled for January 2025. Potential buyers should be aware of the risk that such campaigns entail, which we would rate as high in this case.
