Xiaomi has just released the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in China, full details of which we have covered separately. While the company touched upon the accompanying Photography Kit during its live stream, CEO Lei Jun has now showcased how the new accessory differs from the one offered for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra (curr. $1,049 on Amazon) beyond visual changes.
In short, the Photography Kit has become more modular and customisable for the release of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. For instance, Xiaomi offers the accessory in two variants this year, one of which Xiaomi markets as a Legendary Collector's Edition variant. Both versions contain the same underlying features though, including a detachable finger handle and a replaceable shutter button.
These new features are also joined by a larger battery, which grows from 1,800 mAh to 2,000 mAh. The latter allows Xiaomi to advertise the package as bringing an 8,000 mAh total battery capacity to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, mainly thanks to the smartphone's built-in 6,000 mAh battery though.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra Photography Kit retails for CNY 999 (~$137) in China. Xiaomi is unlikely to disclose global availability until next week when it presents the Xiaomi 15 Ultra during MWC 2025 in Barcelona. If last year's release is anything to go by, then the Xiaomi 15 Ultra Photography Kit will launch globally for €199 (~$209) outside China.
