Apple didn't publicly reveal the battery capacity of the iPhone 16e, but this isn't anything new. The company doesn't usually give much battery details at the launch of a new smartphone. However, it seems that the current affordable Apple flagship phone has a larger battery capacity than the Pro and the standard device from the latest lineup.
To be specific, according to a real-world test carried out by Dave2D, the iPhone 16e apparently has a 3,961 mAh battery. This is around 10% higher than the standard iPhone 16 and 16 Pro, which have 3,561 mAh and 3,582 mAh, respectively. As for how well the latest smartphone from Apple fared in the real-world test, given the large capacity, it takes the lead over the standard device.
For instance, in a test segment where Dave Lee compared the battery life through Reddit loop on WiFi, the iPhone 16e lasted for 12 hours and 54 minutes. The iPhone 16, on the other hand, lasted for 11 hours and 17 minutes. That's over an hour lead for the latest device. This comparison didn't include the 16 Pro, but the 16 Pro Max with a 4.685 mAh battery lasted for 13 hours and 41 minutes.
Tom's Guide has also put the battery life of the iPhone 16e to the test. While their test was a bit different, the latest affordable device still had the lead over the standard iPhone 16. The outlet notes that the iPhone 16e "can definitely make it through a day on a single charge."
In addition, the outlet weighed in the charging time of the iPhone 16e. Tom's Guide highlights that it takes 30 minutes for the battery to get from 0% to 57%, which happens to be the same as the iPhone 16. Note that this charging test was carried out with a 30-watt wall adapter (30 W Anker Nano curr. $18.99 on Amazon).
