The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has made its official debut in China. One of its main highlights is the revamped camera setup, with the star of the show being the 200 MP periscope telephoto. It also sports a larger battery than its predecessor.

Xiaomi has fully unveiled its new Leica camera flagship in China, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Being a camera-focused smartphone, one of the biggest highlights of the smartphone is its revamped camera setup. The primary camera on the back is a 50 MP sensor. It's a 1-inch sensor, but unlike the predecessor, there's no variable aperture.

The 50 MP primary camera is accompanied by a 50 MP ultrawide, which sports an f/2.2 aperture and a 14 mm focal length. There's a 50 MP telephoto with f/1.8 aperture, and it supports macro mode. However, the 200 MP periscope telephoto steals the spotlight. It's a major upgrade from the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which had a 50 MP periscope.

This new 200 MP periscope apparently allows the Xiaomi 15 Ultra to deliver detailed shots at up to 17.2x zoom. The company has also introduced a new photography kit for its latest camera flagship, which features buttons for zoom and other camera controls.

As for the other specs of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, they are of the flagship grade. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is paired with a "two-way design" cooling setup. Per the company, this setup lets the phone be around 6.6-degree Celsius cooler than the iPhone 16 Pro Max while playing "large-scale" RPG action games at 2K resolution.

On the front, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a 6.73-inch AMOLED screen. This LTPO panel has a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels, a peak brightness rating of 3,200 nits, and a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Powering the internals is a 6,000 mAh battery, which is a noticeable upgrade from the predecessor. It can fast charge at 90 W in wired mode (100 W Anker Prime charger curr. $79.99 on Amazon) and at 80 W wirelessly, so the charging speeds haven't seen any change.

Other notable highlights of the phone include UFS 4.1 storage, LPDDR5X RAM, support for USB 3.2 Gen 2, IP68 rating, and Shield Glass 2.0 protection. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra starts at CNY 6,499, around $895, while the photography kit costs CNY 999, about $137. Global pricing and availability details will be revealed at MWC 2025.
