Honor has only just launched the Honor Power, full coverage of which we have provided separately. Nonetheless, the company has already moved on to its next smartphone release, which it will officially introduce on April 23.
As its initial promotional images make clear, the device in question is a direct successor to last year's Honor GT. While the Honor GT lined up as a gaming smartphone with a last generation flagship chipset, Honor is expected to take a different approach for the Honor GT Pro.
According to Digital Chat Station, the Honor GT Pro will launch later this month with the full 8-core version of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Not only will the GT Pro match the Magic7 Pro in this regard, but it is slated to replicate its usage of LPDDR5X RAM and ultrasonic fingerprint hardware too. In other words, the GT Pro should be more than a match for current gaming smartphones like the ROG Phone 9 Pro and the RedMagic 10 Pro (curr. $749 on Amazon).
On top of that, Digital Chat Station expects the Honor GT Pro to contain a 144 Hz display, ultra-fast UFS 4.1 flash storage and 90 W wired charging technology. Camera and battery hardware remain unknown for now, although four lenses can clearly be made out in official and leaked images of the device. Regardless, the GT Pro is anticipated to launch in three colours with the following memory configurations:
- 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage
- 12 GB RAM/512 GB storage
- 16 GB RAM/512 GB storage
- 16 GB RAM/1 TB storage
