The Chipolo Pop is a new Bluetooth Tracker that not only works with Apple's Find My network but also Google's Find My Device network. It arrives as an alternative to the Pebblebee Universal trackers that launched last October.
Unlike Pebblebee's offerings which come in three different designs, the Chipolo Pop is available in one design. The Bluetooth tracker looks like the Chipolo One Point which works with only Apple Find My and the Chipolo One Spot which works with only Google Find My Device. While One Point and One Spot are available in a single color, the Chipolo Pop is available in six, allowing buyers to choose a different color for each belonging they want to track.
It is not just the color and the fact that it works with both Apple and Android that makes the Chipolo Pop different, Chipolo says its new Bluetooth tracker has a better range — from 200 feet of the Chipolo One to 300 feet. The Bluetooth tracker has an IP55 dust and water resistance rating and is powered by a replaceable CR2032 battery that will provide up to a year of use before needing to be changed.
To use the Chipolo Pop, users have to download either the Apple Find My app or the Google Find My Device app depending on their phone. They can also download the Chipolo companion app which offers additional features such as out of range alerts (Android only), the ability to locate your phone using your tracker, and the ability to choose a specific ringtone for each Chipolo tracker you have.
The Chipolo Pop is available for $29 a piece like the Moto Tag, but Chipolo is offering a discount when you purchase a pack of four or a pack of six. Instead of paying $116 for a pack of four Chipolo Pop trackers, you get to pay $89, while a pack of six trackers costs $121 instead of $174. Chipolo will also let you choose a mix of colors if you want. The tracker is available on Chipolo's website and on Amazon, and will be released on April 30.
