Last month, the Chipolo Pop launched as a Bluetooth tracker that works with both Apple's Find My and Google's Find My Device networks. Almost a month prior to Chipolo's announcement, another brand had announced a similar Bluetooth tracker with compatibility for both networks. Unfortunately, the announcement for the device, which is called the MiTag Duo, flew under the radar.
Made by MiLi, the MiTag Duo has the same round design as the MiTag Go (curr. available on Amazon for $13.99) which works only with Google Find My. The tracker is available in black and white color options and has a hole for a key ring that makes it easy to attach it to belongings. It has an IP67 dust and water resistance rating and can work at temperatures between -20℃ to 60℃.
The tracker is officially licensed by Apple and Google, and seamlessly connects with either iPhones or Android smartphones. It also doesn't require a companion app and has support for sharing with other users. The MiTag Duo provides real-time tracking of your belongings. It also has a built-in speaker so you can hear it when you ring it. The tracker is powered by a CR2032 battery that should provide up to 8 months of use before needing to be replaced.
Despite being announced back in March, the MiTag Duo is currently available for pre-order, with shipping scheduled to begin on May 19. MiLi has put a price tag of $19.99 on the tracker, although its online store says this is a discounted price as the original price is $39.29.
You can also save more money when you purchase a bundle such as a pack of two for $35.99 instead of $78.58; a pack of four units for $67.97 instead of $157.16; and a pack of eight for $127.94 instead of $314.32. These prices make the MiTag Duo cheaper than the Chipolo Pop which is priced at $29 per unit, $89 for a pack of four trackers, and $121 for a pack of six.
