Black Shark launches new tracker card with Apple Find My
The Black Shark Global Positioning Tracker has been launched in China. This card-style location tracker with model number BS-TG-02 is designed to help you find missing items. It is compatible with the Apple Find My app, where you can remotely track the precise location of the accessory.
Like other Find My devices, Black Shark’s Global Positioning Tracker works at any distance, as long as it is near another Apple device, such as an iPhone or iPad. You can search for a missing item nearby thanks to an integrated speaker generating a loud noise; this tool works over a 10-20 m (~33-66 ft) range indoors or 20-60 m (~66-197 ft) range outdoors. On top of this, you can get notifications if your item appears to be left behind.
The Black Shark tracker card is said to run for up to four months in standby mode, recharging wirelessly. The accessory is available in black or white, with a small hole to allow it to be attached to a keyring. It measures 45 x 34 x 3 mm (~1.8 x 1.3 x 0.1 inches) and weighs 6.9 g (~0.24 oz).
In China, the Black Shark Positioning Tracker retails for CNY 139 ($19). It is unclear whether the company will bring this product to the US market, where it already sells a range of accessories. If so, it would compete with Apple Air Tag, which retails for $29 but is currently available at Amazon for $24.99.
