Compatible with various Apple devices, the Geo Digital Pencil is designed to be a budget-friendly alternative to the Apple Pencil. Despite its affordability, the stylus supports Find My to help users recover it quickly in case it gets misplaced.
Modern Apple tablets support both touch and pen input. A compatible stylus allows users to take notes and create sketches at considerably higher quality whilst offering a fairly natural writing experience. The ESR Geo Digital Pencil is a new stylus promising to deliver a decent feature set for a very pocket-friendly price of $30.
The stylus is compatible with all iPads released in 2018 or later, including the Pro, Air, Mini and standard models. Even though it can attach magnetically to some iPads, wireless charging isn’t supported. The battery inside can be fully charged within 30 minutes over a wired connection. The Geo Digital Pencil sports a shortcut button that can be pressed once or twice for different actions. Tilt sensitivity is also supported, letting users adjust their line thickness by varying the pen’s angle – a crucial feature when drawing. Thanks to built-in palm rejection, you can rest your palm on the tablet without having to worry about any unwanted inputs. In terms of limitations, the product lacks Apple Pencil-exclusive features such as hover and pressure sensitivity. However, the Geo Digital Pencil does come with Find My, enabling you to locate it quickly.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.
