Apple is fast approaching the 20th anniversary of the iPhone. Likewise, almost a decade has passed since the iPhone X ushered in a new era for smartphone design. According to Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to use 2027 as the year when it introduces what it considers to be another set of groundbreaking devices.
On the one hand, Gurman believes that Apple will bring a radical iPhone redesign to market that year under the auspices of the iPhone 19 Pro. Currently, the analyst expects the device to line up with changes like an all-glass design, ultra-slim bezels and the complete elimination of visible Face ID or selfie camera hardware. Meanwhile, Gurman is also hanging his hat on 2027 as the release year for Apple's first foldable smartphone.
On the other hand, Gurman also points to major changes occurring in Apple's other product lines, such as new smartwatches with built-in cameras, improved AirPods and smart glasses that will surpass current options like the Amazon Echo Frames (curr. $179.99 on Amazon). Apparently, Apple is even developing an AI-powered tabletop robot of sorts, as well as chipsets aimed at moving its silicon division into the world of servers. Whether this all comes off by 2027 remains to be seen at this stage, though.
