The Chinese company Doogee is now offering a brand-new smartphone. The S119 is a new rugged smartphone that measures 7.0 x 3.3 x 0.62 inches and weighs 13oz, which means that it’s neither compact nor lightweight. However, it meets several standards including IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H and should be resistant to water, dust and drops. The weight and dimensions can be traced back to the quite massive energy storage, as the S119 is equipped with a huge battery with a high capacity of 10,200mAh.
The Doogee smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT8788, which features four Cortex-A73 and four Cortex-A53 cores. However, this chipset does not support 5G, which is a major caveat. That said, the S119 has three separate card slots, so the Android device can be operated with two SIM cards while the internal 512GB mass storage is expanded via microSD. The RAM is also reasonably sized at 8GB.
Furthermore, the main camera has a resolution of 100 megapixels and is complimented by a night vision camera with 20 megapixels. Additionally, there is a wide-angle camera with 120° and 5 megapixels, while the selfie camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels. In addition to the 6.72-inch Full-HD main display, there is a circular second screen on the back of the smartphone, which can be used to display notifications, for example.
The Doogee S119 can now be ordered for an official price of $339, but the manufacturer currently grants an additional discount to customers who apply the coupon code "NY15". The phone is supposed to ship within two work days, but shipping to EU countries won’t start until February 20th. Doogee are usually also sold on Amazon, but the S119 is not yet listed at the world’s largest online retailer.
