Casio has launched four new G-Shock G-Steel Fine Metallic watches in the US: the GM5600YMG-8, the GM5600YM-9, the GM2100YMG-8A and the GM2100YM-9A. These same wearables launched in Japan and Europe in January. They are also expected to become available to purchase in the UK in the near future.
The GM5600YMG-8 and the GM5600YM-9 have a metal bezel with a matching metal-look silicone band. These are shock-resistant digital watches that are water resistant to 200 m and are expected to run for around five years. Features include a 1/100-second stopwatch, a 24-hour countdown timer and a multifunctional alarm. Plus, an LED backlight helps you to read the watch face in low lighting. The GM5600YMG-8 has a silver case around a dark display with light figures, while the GM5600YM-9 is gold with a standard light display with dark figures.
The GM2100YMG-8A and the GM2100YM-9A are hybrid watches with the same combination of stainless steel and resin elements. Again, these wearables are shock-resistant and water-resistant to 200 m. The battery life estimate is shorter for these GM2100YM models at three years. There are the same stopwatch, countdown timer and five daily alarms. On top of this, there is support for 31 world time zones, a double LED backlight and a hand shift feature. The GM2100YMG-8A is all silver, while the GM2100YM-9A is gold with a black watch face.
You can now buy these Casio G-Shock G-Steel Fine Metallic watches in the US, with prices starting from $240 for the GM5600YM-8. The GM2100YM-8A is slightly more expensive at $260, the GM5600YMG-9 retails for $280, and the GM2100YMG-9A costs $300.
