After Casio recently unveiled new Edifice and Oceanus models, the company is adding two more models to its Edifice EFB-109D series - the EFB-109D-1AV with a black dial and the EFB-109D-2AV with a blue sunburst dial. Both models stick to a simple, functional design without unnecessary embellishments.
The case measures 43.5 mm tall, 38.5 mm wide, and 9.2 mm thick, with a brushed stainless-steel finish. The dial layout is straightforward—hour markers, minute markers, and a date window at 3 o’clock. A second hand is present for basic functionality, that is, keeping time accurate to the second.
One key feature is the sapphire crystal, which equips the watches with better scratch resistance compared to the more common mineral glass. The screw-back case further adds to the watch's durability, while the 100-meter water resistance rating makes it suitable for daily wear - swimming but not diving.
The watch runs on a quartz movement with an estimated battery life of three years. There’s no solar charging, Bluetooth, or smart features—just a standard, reliable watch. Some third-party retailers, including Tic Tac Area, have the watch listed for $119 (although it's out of stock, as expected). When the watches do become available on Casio's official website, however, we can expect their prices to be lower.
