A new MMORPG comes with Unreal Engine 5 graphics and aims to impress players with massive siege battles. The game will be released in South Korea this week and should soon be available for the rest of the world.

Legend of Ymir is an upcoming MMORPG from South Korean developer WeMade. Built with Unreal Engine 5, it aims to deliver stunning visuals alongside classic MMORPG gameplay. Set in a world where mythological creatures collide with advanced technology, it offers a unique blend of fantasy and science fiction.

Along with impressive visuals, MMO fans can expect massive siege battles and a deep combat system. Players can choose from four distinct classes:

  • Berserker -  a tank who draws enemy aggression and absorbs heavy damage with his sword and shield to protect his team.
  • Skald - a support class wielding a harp to heal, resurrect and buff allies while also contributing in battle.
  • Völva - a mage specializing in elemental magic, using fire and ice spells to attack from a distance.
  • Warlord - a melee fighter armed with two spears, excelling in close combat while also having limited ranged attack options.

Community response mostly positive, but Pay-to-Win concerns remain

The overall reception of Legend of Ymir on YouTube has been largely positive. Many users praise its graphics, often comparing them to Black Desert Online, and express high hopes for a solid PvP system. However, some are concerned that the game might lean too heavily on pay-to-win mechanics or include NFT elements, similar to previous WeMade titles like MIR M and Night Crows.

Launching February 20 in South Korea, global release still uncertain

Legend of Ymir is set to launch on February 20 for PC and mobile devices. The developers have confirmed a global release, but it's still unclear when players outside South Korea will get access.
