The Amazfit Balance smartwatch 3.25.11.1 update is now rolling out to users worldwide. The latest release, also known as the Balance OTA 8.1 update, was announced earlier this month. Initially, it was only available to wearable owners in the US, Canada, and Italy.
In its announcement, Zepp Health noted that version 3.25.11.1 brought three optimizations. These included optimizations for the sleep and wake detection algorithms and an amendment to the step-counting algorithm. Plus, the timing of the Morning Update delivery was said to have been improved.
Now, Balance smartwatch users have reported a more detailed change log. This reveals that the update file is 11.02MB in size. Another new feature is also mentioned here: support for the DJI Osmo Action Bluetooth remote control in the App store. According to the release notes, this also allows users to overlay tracked workout data, such as their speed or route, on video footage.
The longer change log also mentions a new Strength Training Action Quality Assessment, additional workouts for Ski mountaineering, Dog walking, Snow shovelling and a tap-to-wake feature. However, these changes, as well as an intelligent workout start, an unread notifications indicator and a Bluetooth disconnection alert, all arrived in the version 3.25.5.5 update, which arrived in December.
This is a phased rollout, with several users in the US, Canada and Italy reporting that they are still waiting to receive the update. Unfortunately, Zepp Health has not indicated a date by which it aims to have shared the 3.25.11.1 update with all users of the Amazfit Balance smartwatch (curr. $149.99 at Amazon).
