Oppo claims Find X8 Pro outperforms iPhone 16 Pro Max in extreme battery tests

Oppo will launch the Find X8 series on October 24, and the company has already revealed a couple of key aspects of the lineup. In the latest round of teasers, Oppo provided details about the Pro variant's battery. Oppo claims that the Find X8 Pro can outperform the iPhone 16 Pro Max in battery endurance tests.

The Oppo Find X8 Pro will come with a 5,910 mAh "Glacier Battery," which utilizes next-gen silicon-carbon anode technology. Although this battery has a higher capacity than the one in the Find X7 Ultra, Oppo claims the upcoming flagship is 13% slimmer. This makes the smartphone the thinnest model in the Find series with a battery close to the 6,000 mAh mark.

Getting back to the internal test data, Oppo claims the Find X8 Pro can deliver 29.3 hours of continuous video playback. In the same test, the iPhone 16 Pro Max reportedly offers 27.7 hours of playback. The Find X8 Pro is also said to last 7.2 hours when recording HDR video, which is noticeably ahead when compared to the iPhone's 5-hour endurance.

Oppo also tested the Find X8 Pro in extreme conditions, at a temperature of -20° C (-4° F). The Find X8 Pro reportedly recorded Dolby Vision HDR video for 5.3 hours, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max lasted only 10 minutes under the same conditions.

With these tests, Oppo wants to highlight the overall battery endurance of the Find X8 Pro.
