Xiaomi Redmi 14C 5G rears its head in new leak with 2x performance boost over 4G sibling
Xiaomi has another affordable smartphone in the works, having just unveiled the Redmi A4 5G in India. Added to that, recent leaks suggest that the POCO C75 could soon launch globally as a re-branded Redmi 14C of sorts too. However, it seems that Xiaomi also has a more powerful alternative to the Redmi 14C planned as well.
For now, the device has only appeared on Geekbench, which mirrors an equivalent leak for the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G. Nonetheless, the single Geekbench listing reveals not only a prospective launch window for Xiaomi's unreleased smartphone, but also some of its specifications and potential performance. Specifically, the device in question is the 2411DRN47I, which various sources believe is a 5G version of the Redmi 14C that debuted in August (curr. $131.97 on Amazon).
While the Redmi 14C 5G carries over the lion's share of its name from the Redmi 14C 4G, the former may be significantly more powerful than the latter. For context, Xiaomi bases the Redmi 14C 4G around the Helio G81 Ultra. Based on the Geekbench listing linked below, Xiaomi has developed the Redmi 14C 5G with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, which is roughly twice as fast as the Helio G81 Ultra.
Currently, the Redmi 14C 5G is expected to land as a re-branded Redmi 14R 5G that appeared last month. If that is the case, then the Redmi 14C 5G should also contain a 6.88-inch and 120 Hz display with a 720p native resolution, as well as a 5,160 mAh battery, among other features. Reportedly, Xiaomi will release the Redmi 14C 5G in India as soon as next month.
