Retroid Pocket 4 Pro: New powerful retro gaming handheld launches for under $200

The Pocket 4 Pro is now available, less than a month after Retroid presented the comparatively powerful gaming handheld. For reference, the Pocket 4 Pro serves as the most powerful member of the Pocket 4 series. In that Pocket 4 Pro's case, Retroid has included a 4.7-inch IPS display that works with a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset and 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Based on Retroid's product listing, the 1,334 x 750-pixel, 60 Hz and 500-nit display is the same one the company uses in the Pocket 4. Conversely, the Dimensity 1100 contains four ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores, as well as four Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.

Moreover, the Pocket 4 Pro runs Android 13, two Android versions newer than the Pocket 4. Also, the former features MicroSD card expansion, a 5,000 mAh battery and hall effect analogue sticks like its cheaper sibling. The Pocket 4 Pro is orderable now for $199 with 128 GB of storage in 16Bit, 16Bit US, Black, Crystal, Ice Blue and Watermelon colour options. Please note that while Retroid will discount the gaming handheld to $194 until December 23 and will include a screen protector with pre-orders, it will not start shipping units until January 15.
