Two of the best RPGs released for the Game Boy Advance are coming to Nintendo's Switch Online service. Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age are beloved classics that will be easily playable via the Switch Online Expansion Pack.

Two of the best RPGs from the Game Boy Advance will soon be readily accessible thanks to Nintendo Switch Online.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age are coming to the Nintendo Switch's Expansion Pack online service, which includes games from several classic Nintendo consoles. The Expansion Pack provides an emulator for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) to subscribers, and Nintendo has been trickling out titles for the retro handheld.

Coming to the service January 16, Golden Sun and its sequel, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, are two of the highest-rated games for the Game Boy Advance (according to Metacritic, where the games sit at #11 and #28, respectively). The games are traditional Japanese-style role-playing games, or JRPGs, which are built around a turn-based combat system where characters can gain experience and level up, increasing their damage output, health points, and more.

The games are set in the world of Weyard and follows a group of Adepts, or people who can use Psynergy, which is a mysterious force akin to magic. While the game has a large overworld to explore, similar to most JRPGs, there are several puzzles outside of battle that require the player to use Psynergy to overcome. There are also several systems that allow for a deep level of character customization.

The titles will be available to subscribers with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, which runs US$49.99 for the year for an single membership ($79.99/year for a family of up to 8). Included in this membership tier is online play with other Switch gamers and access to games originally released on the NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo 64, as well as some other perks.
