Princess Peach: Showtime trailer showcases multiple costumes for titular heroine
A new trailer for Princess Peach: Showtime! debuted on Nintendo of America's YouTube channel today, showcasing a few of the costumes the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom will use.
The game, which comes to the Nintendo Switch on March 22, follows Princess Peach as she traverses multiple set pieces by wearing a variety of costumes that grant her new abilities. The trailer highlights a ninja costume (which allows Peach to sneak and wall jump), a cowgirl costume (which grants Peach a lasso and a horse to ride), a sword fighter costume complete with a rapier, a detective costume (which is reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes), a chef's costume (in which Peach can cook with other characters), and a kung fu costume that enables Peach to engage in martial arts.
Levels take place on stages with props and backdrops to set the mood. Other characters include new yellow creatures with large noses and purple masked foes that appear to serve as the primary antagonists. As of now, few other details about the game are known.
This isn't the Princess's first title role in a Nintendo game. While she has been playable in a smattering of Mario titles, like Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, and Mario Party, she is also a playable character in the Super Smash Bros series. Additionally, Princess Peach received her own game on the Nintendo DS in 2005 with Super Princess Peach, which sees the Mushroom Kingdom royal venture off on a quest to rescue her favorite red-clad plumber.
Princess Peach: Showtime! comes to the Nintendo Switch on March 22, 2024.
