Gigabyte releases new gaming laptop with a massive battery and high-end hardware
The AORUS 17 (2024) is one of several gaming laptops that Gigabyte has launched this week. To recap, the company has also refreshed the AORUS 15, AORUS 16X and AORUS 17X with differing Intel processors. Additionally, Gigabyte brought the AORUS G5, AORUS G6 and AORUS G6X to CES 2024 in Las Vegas, all with Raptor Lake processors.
By contrast, the AORUS 17 (2024) relies upon the Meteor Lake-H architecture. Gigabyte's product page only mentions the Core Ultra 7 155H, though, a 28 W and 16-core processor that also has an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). Moreover, all variants will ship with a 17.3-inch display that combines a 1440p (2,560 x 1,440) resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and NVIDIA G-SYNC support. Other highlights include:
- Up to 32 GB DDR5-5600 RAM (2x SO-DIMM)
- PCIe 4.0 storage (2x M.2)
- 99 Wh battery (240 W AC/100 W PD)
- Thunderbolt 4 connectivity
- HDMI 2.1 and Mini DP 1.4 video outputs
According to Gigabyte's product page, it will soon offer the AORUS 17 (2024) in BKG and BSG variants. As far as we can tell, the company distinguishes the two models by their discrete GPUs, which are both NVIDIA solutions with 140 W TGPs. Specifically, Gigabyte equips the BKG and BSG with the GeForce RTX 4060 and GeForce RTX 4070, respectively, which are separated by about 15% in our benchmarks. More details about local pricing and availability can be found on Gigabyte's website.
