Anbernic RG35XX H revealed as new compact gaming handheld with Wi-Fi multiplayer and HDMI output options
Last month, Anbernic updated the RG35XX series with the RG35XX Plus. For context, Anbernic equipped the new version of the RG35XX with upgraded hardware designed to improve performance and battery life while maintaining the device's overall looks. Now, the company has unveiled the RG35XX H, another 3.5-inch gaming handheld based that it claims can emulate up to PlayStation Portable (PSP) and Nintendo DS games.
As far as we can tell, the RG355X H is a horizontal version of the RG35XX Plus rather than the standard RG35XX. While the company does not acknowledge this in the video below, the RG355X H relies upon the same chipset and battery as the RG35XX Plus. Thus, the RG355X H will ship with an Allwinner H700 and a 3,300 mAh battery, along with 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and an OCA laminated IPS panel that outputs at 640 x 480 pixels.
Moreover, the gaming handheld supports Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11 ac) connectivity for multiplayer gameplay, examples of which Anbernic demonstrate in its launch video below. Likewise, Anbernic has included a HDMI output for connecting the RG35XX H to an external display. Although Anbernic has not announced pricing or availability yet, past performance suggests that it will do so either later this month or at the start of January.
