According to a new report, HP is preparing to release a new premium gaming monitor. Billed as the Omen Transcend 32, the gaming monitor will utilise a QD-OLED panel from Samsung, which will provide a 4K resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate.

Windows Report has leaked official photos and specifications for the Omen Transcend 32, an upcoming gaming monitor. For reference, it appears that HP is also preparing to launch the Omen Transcend 14, as well as Spectre x360 14 and Spectre x360 16 laptops. While Windows Report has not provided any release dates yet, CES 2024 could serve as a probable showcase for HP's new devices.

According to the website, the Omen Transcend 32 relies on an OLED panel that outputs at 4K with a 240 Hz refresh rate. Based on those specifications, it seems likely that HP has sourced a 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display, just as Dell has with the Alienware AW3225QF. Moreover, the panel is rumoured to peak at 1,000 nits when viewing HDR content, plus AMD FreeSync and Dolby Vision for maximising image content.

Also, Windows Report states that the monitor will integrate Tempest Monitor Cooling technology to minimise OLED burn-in. Although there is no worse on pricing yet, the Omen Transcend 32 will integrate the following ports, along with a keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) switch:

  • 1x DisplayPort 2.1
  • 2x HDMI 2.1
  • 3x USB 3.2 Type-A
  • 1x USB-C 3.2 Type-C (data)
  • 1x USB-C 3.2 Type-C (data & 15 W charging)
  • 1x USB Type-C upstream (DisplayPort Alt mode, 140 W Power Delivery)
