It appears that HP is preparing to refresh its Omen Transcend gaming laptop series. To recap, the company introduced the Omen Transcend 16 in March. As its name suggests, the Omen Transcend 16 is a 16-inch model, which comes in AMD and Intel flavours. Based on a recent Windows Report leak, HP will soon complement the Omen Transcend 16 with a 14-inch model, which it will advertise as the 'world's lightest 14" gaming laptop'.
According to Windows Report, the Omen Transcend 14 will weigh 1.637 kg. For context, the soon-to-be refreshed ROG Zephyrus G14 tips the scales at 1.65 kg, while the Razer Blade 14 comes in at 1.84 kg. However, although the Omen Transcend 14 is lighter than its competitors, it is exactly as thick as the Razer Blade 14 at 17.99 mm.
Reportedly, HP will offer the Omen Transcend 14 with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU that has 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. While it is unclear at what TGP the machine's GPU will operate, HP has installed two fans to keep everything in check. Meanwhile, the Omen Transcend 14 will ship with a 16:10 OLED display that outputs at 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, 120 Hz and 500 nits, unlike many gaming laptops.
Furthermore, HP will sell 16 GB and 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM SKUs clocked at 7,467 MT/s, plus 512 GB to 2 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. Presumably debuting during CES 2024, the Omen Transcend 14 will also come with a 71 Wh battery that supports 140 W charging and ports across three of its four sides. Unfortunately, pricing remains unknown for now, but the Omen Transcend 14 should be available with the Core Ultra 7 155H too, as well as RTX 4050 and RTX 4060 GPU options.
