Xiaomi lists new more powerful portable air compressor on global website
The Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 Pro has been listed on the company’s global website, indicating that it will soon be available in a range of countries. The gadget was launched in China in August, and follows the older Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2.
The Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 Pro is said to rapidly inflate tires. For example, Xiaomi suggests that, in Car Mode, a 205/55 R16 car tyre can be inflated from 2.0 to 2.5 Bar in around 45 seconds. This makes it significantly faster than the Portable Electric Air Compressor 2, which requires two minutes for the same inflation. There are five inflation modes, such as bicycle mode and motorbike mode, or you can tailor the settings to suit your needs. Inflation is automatically paused when the desired pressure, between 0.2 and 10.3 Bar (3 and 150 PSI), is reached. Plus, you can track inflation progress using the display on the front of the gadget.
The 2,500mAh battery is larger than the 2,000mAh power pack in its predecessor and is said to allow you to re-inflate 16 car tires or 30 road bike tires. The battery fully recharges via USB-C in 3.5 hours, and the product has a multimode indicator light to provide warning signals or to act as a flashlight. The compact electric air pump measures 152 x 100 x 63 mm (~6.0 x 3.9 x 2.5 inches) and comes with an air valve, extension hose and various accessories. There is currently no indication as to when the Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 Pro will launch, in which countries and at what price. For context, the product retails in China for CNY 299 (~$42), and the older Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 costs $44.99/€59.99 (curr. €47.15 at Amazon Germany).
