When we tested the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6, the lightweight productivity laptop achieved an outstanding battery life. Now, Lenovo has expanded the options for this Qualcomm Snapdragon X laptop, adding a high quality OLED display, 5G mobile connectivity and a more affordable Snapdragon X Plus 8 Core CPU into the mix.

It is not every day that we measure 22 hours of battery life in our standardized Wi-Fi test. The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 (available from Amazon.com for $1,899) achieved this result. It lasted exactly 22 hours and 29 minutes in our comprehensive review while running our web-browsing script with a screen brightness of 150 cd/m². Unsurprisingly, the battery life ended up being the biggest strength of this slender black laptop for the typical office use case.

One problem with the T14s G6 when it launched were the limited options. It was only available with a single screen, a single processor and without the promised 5G option. Recently, Lenovo rectified this issue, as the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 Qualcomm has now a few new options.

First and most unexpected: The Lenovo ThinkPad laptop is now available with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100. The Snapdragon X Plus 8 Core CPU that was announced at IFA can deliver the same great battery life as the X Elite chips, though of course at a reduced level of performance due to four less cores. Still, it is a very attractive option for users who are just after that battery life and want to save some money. At Lenovo.com, choosing the X Plus reduces the price by $60. Also, with the X Plus, users now get the option to choose 16 GB of RAM instead of 32 GB, further reducing the base price. With 16 GB RAM, a 256 GB SSD and the Snapdragon X Plus, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 starts a $1,036, far from the original base price of the device north of $2,000 when it launched in June 2024.

More on the premium-side of the spectrum are the other two new options: The 2.8K (2,880 x 1,800) OLED screen, which also offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and the Quectel RM520N-GL 5G Sub6 card. This makes the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 the first and so far only Snapdragon X laptop with 5G mobile connectivity. Both options command a hefty premium price: OLED adds $315 in the Lenovo configurator, 5G $298.
