Leak reveals potential design of new Xiaomi affordable fitness band

Xiaomi launched the Smart Band 9 in China in July and later brought it to the global market in August. Usually, this wearable series includes three devices per generation, and the renders of the Pro variant have recently leaked. Those renders suggested some minor tweaks to the design compared to the predecessor, and now, the Active version has the same treatment.

These new Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active renders come from the same source that leaked the Pro variant, Ytechb. According to the leaked renders, the upcoming fitness band may not look wildly different from its predecessor. So, the display size is expected to be 1.47-inch, the same as the Band 8 Active.

The renders also suggest that Xiaomi will stick with a ruggedized chassis for the upcoming smart band, something that's common in the Active wearables within the brand's portfolio. Reportedly, there will be three color options available: Pink, Black, and White.

Of course, the renders do show some distinguishable design features compared to the Band 8 Active. For example, they show that the band covers the frame's sides, potentially offering better durability than its predecessor. The display also appears to be flat, while the predecessor had a curved screen.

Besides that, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active is expected to have up to 18 days battery life rating, which would be a good improvement from the predecessor. For reference, the Band 8 Active can offer up to 14 days of runtime. Ytechb also claims that Xiaomi will launch the upcoming fitness band at the same price as its predecessor (Amazfit Band 7 curr. $44.99 on Amazon).
