DJI’s first 360-degree camera leak: Osmo 360 set to rival Insta360 X4 and GoPro Max
There is a fair number of 360-degree action cameras on the market, with companies like Insta360 and GoPro leading the charge. DJI, which recently launched the Osmo Action 5 Pro, hasn't been a part of this trend yet - but that is set to change very soon, as per a new leak from @JasperEllens via X/Twitter. As per the leak, the company is preparing to launch its very first 360 action camera - the Osmo 360. The camera was reportedly certified by the FCC today itself (FCC ID: 2ANDR-OQ0012024). While the specifics of the Osmo 360 remain under wraps, DJI's potential entry into the 360-degree camera space is pretty exciting. Given DJI's reputation for quality hardware and advanced stabilization tech, it's likely the Osmo 360 will aim to compete with market leaders like the Insta360 X4 and GoPro Max 360 (currently $428 on Amazon).
DJI’s Osmo Action series has already impressed in the past, so it's possible the Osmo 360 could follow suit. The company might even leverage its expertise in drone stabilization and gimbal technology to ensure smooth 360-degree footage.
Pricing and feature details haven’t been revealed yet, but if DJI stays true to form, we could expect advanced software features like horizon leveling, time-lapse modes, and intelligent tracking. Whether the Osmo 360 introduces any standout features that could push it ahead of its competition is still a question, but with the filing now public, more information is likely on the way soon.
