Insta360 has now confirmed the date for its next launch event. Scheduled for under a week's time, said event appears set to showcase a new Insta360 action camera to rival the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro and GoPro Hero 13 Black.

Plenty has known about Insta360's next action camera for a while now. Specifically, the Ace Pro 2 first turned up in early September. Since then, GoPro released the Hero and Hero 13 Black, which DJI promptly followed up with the Osmo Action 5 Pro (curr. $435.59 on Amazon).

Now, Insta360 has joined the party by confirming the date for its next launch event. As usual, Insta360 does not refer to the forthcoming device by name currently in its marketing materials. With that being said, its teaser images make it clear that a new action camera is in the works.

To make things even clearer, Insta360 even overlays the number 2 atop said teaser image. Insta360 will officially unveil the Ace Pro 2 at 13:00 UTC on October 22. Currently, the action camera is expected to feature a 50 MP and 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, among other DJI and GoPro-rivalling hardware. Please note that Insta360 is only expected to release the Ace Pro 2 next week. As a result, the camera will serve as a replacement for both the Ace and Ace Pro, albeit at a price closer to the former not the latter.
