Insta360 Ace Pro 2 key specs finally leaked: GoPro and DJI action camera rival to sport 50MP sensor, 5nm AI chip and 2x digital zoom
Newly leaked specifications from @Quadro_News reveal an extensive list of details about the soon-to-be-launched Insta360 Ace Pro 2 action camera, further expanding on earlier leaks that confirmed features like 8K video, a Leica co-developed sensor, and dual AI chips. The camera will allegedly offer water resistance up to 33 feet and shock resistance from 5 feet. It is rated to function in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 113°F, making it usable in both cold and hot environments. Take a look at the leaked spec list below:
The camera is equipped with a 50-megapixel sensor and can shoot video at 8K resolution (4320p). @Quadro_News mentions that the Ace Pro 2 will feature a 5nm AI chip to improve image processing, camera performance, system operations and firmware functions on the camera. It has a 1/1.3” (9.6 x 7.2mm) image sensor, while 2x digital zoom and an f/2.6 aperture should add versatility for more shooting options. Also, its focal length ranges from 13mm to 35mm for both wide-angle and zoomed-in shots.
The Ace Pro 2 also supports slow-motion recording at up to 240fps and has HDR mode for better dynamic range. The device is lightweight at 0.39 pounds - only marginally heavier than the GoPro Hero 13 Black (currently $399 on Amazon) - and features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity. A microSD slot is included for storage, although no memory card will be provided with the camera.
Additional specs confirm that the Ace Pro 2 has a tripod mountable design and measures 2.8 x 2.0 x 1.2 inches. Recent leaks have also hinted at the pricing of the action camera and a substantially larger rear panel than its predecessor. This combination of features (on paper at least) makes the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 look like a formidable foe to its newly unveiled GoPro and DJI competitors, especially considering the standout 8K recording feature. With most of the details out of the way, the official launch date should be revealed soon.
